Thats a nice job
I've been spraying all day on and off, but in a garge where I can control the conditions.  Did you spray that outside?  Is the weather good in Ireland or what?  Can I come over?

Would you do me a favour?  Would you take me a photo of the inner wing on the passenger side from inside the engine bay (you don't have to climb in!)?  So I can see what it all looks like under the heater/AC box from front to firewall.

Thanks.
Andy.

I'll get a couple of pix up in the morning, is there a particular area youre interested in ,or just the wheel tubs.?

Thats some job you're undertaking...you seem to know your stuff though, credit to you......maybe when i have mine a few years i might get itchy fingers again....lookin forward to seeing the pix...or maybe get it onto dvd..i'd buy a copy..

Thanks cc.
I've been working with yanks since 1987.  Built some radical stuff I can tell ya!  I'm hoping this summer will be the reveal of my latest creation in the garage!  My poor van has to stay outside

The purpose of the photo is to find out why there are humps and bumps in the inner wheel tub.  Especially the passenger side one (your drivers side now though!!).  In this photo directly above the hub is a particular nasty bit that sticks out (well, not quite sticks out, but is a corner or a crease in the metal).  The rusty L shape bit.  Should have a yellow ring around it, but may not have!!!

What is behind there?  Your photo may be of great value.  I am going to have to depressurise the AC system properly, so it can be recharged with the correct volume of oil in after all the mods.

Your undertaking is brave also  Can't think of many people who would attempt that from scratch and on an unknown vehicle.

Good luck.
Andy.

Back in the cab then.....brake/throttle pedals now painted and fitted ,..sorted most of the wiring today till i ran out of cable......must have cut and soldered about 60 wires.."the fumes MAN.....cooooll...
Tomorrow, get cable, more fumes ...,have a go at fitting the handbrake..,
Happy to report that theres still plenty of room at the pedas to get a heater hose routed through the firewall and up behind the dash...a visit to the scrappies to look for a small heater unit, or failing that ,a kitcar unit from Car builders solutions, they have all the hoses and vent gubbins..
pix to follow..

Just where do you find the time in the day, if you are married you must have a very understanding wife.

Keep up the good work CC.

if you ever come to a AstroSafri meet over in England we will all look forward to seeing the fruits of your labours, and you will also beat astroshepawd on miles crossed by ferry to attend a meet!

I agree entirely  Don't stop till you die!!!!
My Wife is exactly the same.  I don't do pubs/football matches/lads nights out.  I am either in the garage or on the drive fixing/modifying something.  She knows where I am, and can always give me a shout.  Yes, I get the tutting as well sometimes, but not very often.  Good innit?

Doing a fantastic job there CC.  Hope to meet up one day

Andy.

Andy, regarding your rubbed 'L' shaped piece of inner arch...(yellow box, arrowed) can you not see whats behind there on yours then? Happened to look at mine today and all thats behind there is the plastic cowling of the heater box, would imagine it just sits on the small shelf the crease creates for location purposes.

CC, when you next post your pics take one of the view from the now drivers seat looking at the pedals. How you have got them into such a small space is intriguing me.
Also whats the cause of the nasty splooge on your lens as seen in your pics?

Hi Shep.
Yep, undoubtedly it is.  To do a proper job on this I need to strip the area and remove most of the inner arch anyway.  To copy cc's style - while I am there, I need to increase the ride height of the van to make it more practical - while I am there, I might as well fit air suspension.  While I am doing that I may as well modify the bodywork to get the van on the floor when parked.  The dash is such a PITA to remove and replace, I am going to do all necessary jobs while it is out.  I'll make it nice and clean and smooooooth.  No RHD conversion for me, but I will be modifying everything else!!

Andy.

CC, and your shoe size is ??????
I sat in the passenger seat the other day and did just that, my size 10 filled it up and of course was offset Ferrari style. It appears from the pic (good job to put your foot in for scale) that for you its gonna be just dandy.
